CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Drivers are being asked to be aware of two bridge maintenance projects which will begin on Wednesday, April 13 in Calhoun County.
The 11 Mile Road bridge in Burlington Township as well as the 13 Mile Road bridge in Tekonsha Township that both go over the Saint Joseph River will be closed for about a month while construction is done.
Detours will be posted while work is underway.
Work on both bridges includes guardrail replacement, concrete repairs, repairs to the roadway approaches, and a new HMA surface.
Weather permitting the work is scheduled to be done by May 11.
This work is being performed by a contractor, Grand River Construction, and funding is through the Michigan Department of Transportation’s (MDOT) Local Bridge Program.
