OLIVET, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy track teams opened their seasons with a double dual meet against Maple Valley and Olivet on Tuesday afternoon.
Team results were unavailable in the boys meet but the Orioles got first place finishes from Ben Schreur in the 200 and the high jump, Noah Pearson in the 400, Ashtyn Morris in the shot put, Gabe Watson in the discus and Cole Turner in the pole vault.
The Quincy Girls defeated Maple Valley but lost a close meet to Olivet.
The Orioles had five first place finishes in the field events.
The discus was won by Sophia Snellenberger with a throw of 129’4”. Anna Richer won the long jump by jumping a distance of 14’8.5” Raigen Horsfall was the winner in the shot put with a throw 34’3”. The pole vault was won by Flo Vito with a height of eight feet and the high jump was won by Nikkia Cronk with a height of 4’10”.
On the track the Orioles were led by Lita Fulton winning the 300 meter hurdles 53.43 seconds and Elise Wright won the two mile with a time of 14:06.9.
