William Arlis Hill, 74, of Allen, passed away, Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Ascension Borgess in Kalamazoo. He was born on September 21, 1947 in Williamsburg, Kentucky to Aaron and Evelyn (Blakley) Hill. On August 2, 1969, William married Betty (Atkins) and she survives.
William was an Auditor at Douglas Auto Tech in Bronson for 17 years until his retirement. He loved playing the guitar, painting, drawing, camping and working on his cars. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. William served his country in the United States ARMY during the Vietnam Era. He is also a member of the Reading American Legion, Post 360.
In addition to his wife, Betty, William is survived by two daughters, Vicki Shook of Allen, Valerie (Craig) Sheffer of Hillsdale; son, Aaron (Autumn) Hill of Allen; three sisters, Shirley (Russell) Ludwig of Dearborn Heights, Wanda Chorba of Monroe, Carol (Jose) Galnares of Tennessee; two brothers, James (Rita) Hill of Taylor, Bill Hill of Romulus; five granddaughters, Vaughan (Maygen) Reed, Kaylee Walinski, Hannah Sheffer, Breanna Sheffer, Heaven Hill and three grandsons, Caleb (Sydney) Shook, Joseph Sheffer and Reece Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for William Arlis Hill will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022 at 2 PM at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading with Eric O’Dell officiating. Interment will take place on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 10 AM at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta. Visitation will be held from 12 PM until the time of service on Monday.
