COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The moratorium on winter utility shut offs in the State of Michigan ends Friday and Coldwater B.P.U. Director Paul Jakubczak is reminding their customers who may need some bill assistance to contact them.
He told the B.P.U. Board of Directors on Thursday night that the electric disconnects will begin on Monday.

Customers who need utility bill assistance can contact the CBPU Customer Service Team at (517) 279- 9531 to ask about available resources in the community.
Customers may also call 2-1-1 or visit www.mi211.org for energy assistance information.
Under a state law, utility companies can not disconnect customers who fall behind on their bills between November 1 and April 15.
