BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The calendar may say it’s April but winter like conditions continue to persist.
The low on Easter Sunday morning at the Branch County Memorial Airport was 27 degrees which was 20 degrees colder than the low recorded for this past Christmas.
Sunday’s high of 46 was also colder than the high temperature on Christmas Day when it was 54 degrees.
Monday’s forecast calling for snow showers just adds more insult to injury as everybody has been enduring cold and wet weather for the last month.
For the last 31 days since March 18, the Michigan State University Extension Service weather station at the Bloom Dairy Farm has measured rain on 22 days.
The total amount of rain since March 18 has been nearly four inches.
There have also been only nine days in which the temperature has gotten above the normal high.
April has only had three days in the 60s so far.
But the National Weather Service is calling for a warm up late this week with high temperatures in the 70s over the weekend.
