QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – A divided Quincy Village Council voted 4-3 in favor of a Special Land Use application from the Romulus Group on Tuesday night for the property at 118 West Chicago which will be used as a medical and adult use marijuana Class C grow, processing and provisioning center.
Village Manager Brittany Butler said the Romulus Group, which is based in Butler, Indiana, has applied for licenses in each category.
She said the grow operation would have 1,500 plants for the medical side with another 2,500 plants on the adult use side.
The action came after a public hearing was held.
Butler tried to address concerns raised by Council member Wendy Salyer about the grow operation.
A site plan for the business has already been approved and the Romulus Group has gotten its pre-qualification status from the state Marijuana Regulatory Agency.
The business would be located behind the McDonald’s restaurant on the west side of Quincy.
