COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A fence variance request from a couple who live next to the Lofts at Milnes Plaza on North Monroe Street was approved Wednesday night by the Coldwater Zoning Board of Appeals.
Patrick & Tracy Kelley were seeking a four foot dimensional variance from a city ordinance to install a fence at a height of eight feet in a residential side and rear yard in the C-2 Central Business District.
There has been increased foot traffic since the apartment building opened up next door.
With a pool in the backyard, Tracy Kelley hopes the fence will provide privacy and prevent some other problems that have taken place.
The Kelleys pointed out in their application that the height will be the same as the height of the two dumpster corrals in the Milnes lot.
The fence variance would only apply to the stretch of fence on the property line that butts up against Milnes Plaza and the Lofts complex.
