QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – A request by the Village of Quincy to annex 40 acres of land west of the village industrial park and to de-annex another piece of property were tabled Thursday morning during the Branch County Board of Commissioners Work Session after questions and concerns were raised by Commissioner Tom Matthew.
Village Manager Brittany Butler said property owner Ian Bernard made the request to annex the land which borders real estate he already owns in Quincy.
Matthew felt more details had to be presented.
He also wanted the two requests kept separate.
Butler said they have done everything Village Attorney Chuck Lillis told them they had to do concerning the annexation.
After further discussion, the Commissioners decided to table the requests until more answers can be provided and if they need to conduct a public hearing.
