BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater dropped their first Interstate 8 Conference games of the season while Bronson remained unbeaten in the Big 8 Conference on Tuesday.
The Cardinals were swept at Parma Western by scores of 4-1 and 5-3 with the second game going eight innings. Karlie Knisely drove in the only run for Coldwater in the first game.
The Panthers got a walk off homer in the last of the eighth of the nightcap. MacKenzie Scheid had two hits and struck out 11 in her seven plus innings of work in the circle.
The Cardinals are now 12-4 overall and 6-2 in the Interstate 8.
Parma Western also swept Coldwater in the J.V. doubleheader by scores of 8-0 and 10-9.
Bronson swept Homer 7-1 and 14-0.
First game winning pitcher Lynsey Smith struck out 12 and walked one in going the distance. Haylie Wilson led the Bronson offense with three hits.
Addison Harris was the winning pitcher in the second game. Aubree Calloway belted a homer and drove in two runs.
The Vikings are now 14-7 overall and 9-0 in the Big 8.
