BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Police agencies throughout West Michigan are taking part in the annual “Click It or Ticket” campaign which got underway on Monday ahead of the Memorial Day holiday.
Michigan State Police troopers along with other agencies will be enforcing the state’s seat belt law through June 5.
The State Police say there was just under 92 percent compliance over the last couple of years but they are hoping everybody will buckle up.
Officials say 220 people who were not wearing seat belts were killed on Michigan roads in 2020.
The Indiana State Police will also be taking part in the enforcement effort.
