JONESVILLE, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Orioles and the Jonesville Comets split their Big 8 Conference baseball doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon in Jonesville.
Quincy won the opener 9-5 but Jonesville came back to win their nightcap 4-2.
Brady Mescher earned his fourth conference win of the season in the first game as he pitched the first five innings. Karsen Maurer earned the save.
Mescher and Maurer both had RBI doubles.
Brennen Allman added an RBI single while hot hitting Hunter Tinervia, Riley Miner and Ethan Copas added singles.
The Orioles had six stolen bases.
The Comets scored a pair of runs in the second game on balk calls.
Jonesville’s defense did not make make an error and Quincy was held to two hits.
The Orioles finish a suspended game on Thursday against Concord and then will play the YellowJackets in a single 7 inning game at Quincy.
