COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Bids for a proposed improvement project at the Branch County Memorial Airport will be opened next Thursday morning.
According to a post on the State of Michigan’s web site, the bids for the rehabilitation of a taxiway and the expansion of a apron will be opened next Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the Lansing office of Mead and Hunt.
The Branch County Board of Commissioners approved plans for the renovation last July.
At that time, Airport Manager Joe Best said the project would improve safety at the airport.
The federal government is picking up up 90 percent of the total costs through a grant.
Branch County and MDOT are each paying five percent of the costs.
Potential bidders were encouraged to attend a pre-bid meeting which was held this past Tuesday at the airport.
