BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – A total of twelve student-athletes from Branch County punched their ticket to the MHSAA Lower Peninsula Track & Field Finals on June 4th as a result of their performances at Regional meets Friday. The top two finishers in each event advance to the Finals, along with anyone who meets or exceeds the published additional qualifying standards.
Division 1 Regional at Portage Central
Coldwater’s Avery Boyce finished 3rd in the girls pole vault by clearing 10′ 3″, just meeting the additional qualifying standard and advancing to the Division 1 Final at Rockford. The Cardinal girls finished 13th, while the boys were 15th.

Division 3 Regional at Lawton
Two Bronson Vikings advanced to the Division 3 Finals at Kent City. Jaiden Hayes was 2nd in the girls 300m hurdles with a time of :51.09, and Jordan Shadix was 3rd in the boys shot put with a throw of 46′ 5″. The boys team finished 12th, while the girls were tied for 13th.

Division 3 Regional at Hillsdale
Quincy’s girls team finished 3rd and had three event winners. Nikkia Cronk won the girls 100m with a time of :13.67. In the girls shot put, Raigen Horsfall (37′ 7″) and Sophia Snellenberger (34′ 4.5″) finished 1-2; they flipped places in the girls discus with Snellenberger winning (134′ 2″) and Horsfall taking 2nd (120′ 7″). The Oriole boys finished 12th, but the 4×100 relay team of Tae’Sean Bodley, Bryce Bellamy, Ethan Hollister, and Ben Schreur qualified for the Division 3 finals with a 3rd place finish (:45.4).
Union City’s boys were tied for 10th place and the girls 11th, but the Chargers qualified two for the state meet. Logan Cole won the boys discus with a throw of 140′, while Nevada Gillons finished second in the girls 100m hurdles (:17.43).
