QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Orioles won last year’s Big 8 girls softball championship by sweeping a doubleheader at Bronson on the final day of the conference schedule.
The Vikings returned the favor on Monday night as they wrapped up the 2022 girls softball conference title with a doubleheader sweep of Quincy on the Orioles home diamond, winning both games by a score of 15-5.
Addison Harris and Lynsey Smith were the winning pitchers for Bronson.
Harris helped her own cause in the first game with two hits including a triple and four RBI’s. Caitlyn Hagen drove in two runs for the Vikings in the opener.
Kaylee Modert and Deziray Skirka both had two hits for Quincy.
Nine Vikings collected at least one hit in the second game. Jadyn Cary and Kaylee Wilber both had two hits. Cary, Aubree Calloway and Harris all drove in two runs.
Mckynna Connin homered for Quincy.
Bronson Coach Becky Gray said, “I am very happy for the girls. To go undefeated in the league is quite an accomplishment. We will continue to work to improve ourselves each day and get ready for districts.”
The Vikings ran the table in the Big 8 as they finished 14-0 in the conference. They are now 23-10 overall.
