COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch Intermediate School District Board of Education approved the hiring of Mike Rasmussen as the new Principal of the Branch Area Careers Center on Wednesday.
He takes over as Principal from Dustin Scharer who will be the Assistant Superintendent and Director of Career and Technical Education once Randy Sowles retires on July 29.
Rasmussen has a 17 year career in education.
He has served as the Athletic Director at Glen Oaks Community College for the past year. He went to Glen Oaks from Colon High School where he was the principal. Prior to that, he was the athletic director at White Pigeon Community Schools and began his career as a teacher and coach at Greenville High School in Greenville.
In addition, the board approved the hiring of Christina Conroy as Supervisor of Special Education.
She takes over from Viveca Skean who is retiring. Conroy’s has 26 years of education experience and comes to the district from the St.Joseph I.S.D.
