MINNEAPOLIS, MN (WKZO AM/FM) – Sonny Gray pitched a gem to lead the Minnesota Twins to a 2-0 win over the Detroit Tigers Tuesday night.
Gray went seven strong while striking out 10 batters without allowing a run to improve his record to 2-and-1.
The Tigers Beau Brieske allowed both of Minnesota’s runs over four innings of work. He is now 0-4.
Gio Urshela went three-for-four at the plate with a run batted in for Minnesota. The Twins have won six in a row and are now 27-and-16, while the Tigers fall to 14-and-28.
Ronny Garcia will be on the mound for Detroit as they hope to avoid the sweep this afternoon. The opening pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. EDT.
