Calvin Imler, 94, of Fremont, IN, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at home.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at East Ovid United Brethren Church in Coldwater with Pastor Dave Holt and Ken Kurtz officiating. Interment will follow at Mason Cemetery in Coldwater, MI.
Visitation will be held Tuesday prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at East Ovid United Brethren Church.
Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Calvin was born June 13, 1930, to Frederick and Millie (VanGundy) Imler in Convoy, OH. He married Pauline French on May 23, 1953, in Fort Wayne, IN. She preceded him in death on November 21, 2018.
Mr. Imler was a farmer and a real estate agent for many years. After selling the farm and retiring in the late 1980’s from real estate, he and Pauline would go to Florida to live for 7 months of the year. While in Florida, Calvin loved to play shuffleboard, even claiming the “Shuffleboard Champion” at Betmar Retirement Community in Florida.
Calvin enjoyed singing and was a member of the Gospelaires Quartet for over 10 years. He was a member of East Ovid Church, and the Assembly of God in Angola.
Calvin is survived by his children, Cyndi French of Norwalk, OH, Mark (LaTonya) Imler of Minot, ND; his grandchildren, Susan Gasaway, Christopher (Lizabeth) Gasaway, Caleb Imler, Leah Imler; step grandchildren Markita, Shirlene, Jojuana, Darrin, Sheila; his great grandchildren Grace, Charlotte, Elijah, Joshua, Alice, David, Nicholas, Roslyn, Daniel; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Calvin was preceded in death by his siblings, Paul Imler, Bob Imler, John Imler, Adaline Imler, Alice Imler, Emma Jean Imler, Helen Imler, Mildred Imler, and Mary Imler; his nephew Daniel Rexroth, and David Imler.
