BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The pain at the pump keeps getting worse as for all intents and purposes, five dollar gas has arrived in Branch County.
There was another 20 cent spike at several service stations in Branch County on Thursday as the price for a gallon of gas jumped to an all time high of $4.99.
According to gasbuddy.com, the lowest price for gas in Branch County was $4.69.
Triple-A reports the national average price of regular is now $4.76 a gallon, a nickel higher than Thursday.
Gas prices have jumped 14 cents over the past three days, with nine states now seeing statewide averages above five dollars a gallon.
While OPEC will be pumping more oil and the Biden administration wants to reopen Venezuela’s market, don’t expect relief at the pump anytime this summer.
Oakland University professor Dr. Michael Greiner told Fox 2 News in Detroit that prices could come down in September.
