BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The 2022 high school track and field season will come to a close on Saturday as the MHSAA Finals will be held.
Branch County will be represented by over a dozen student-athletes.
Coldwater’s Avery Boyce will compete in the girls pole vault at the Division 1 Finals in Rockford.
Two Bronson Vikings advanced to the Division 3 Finals at Kent City. Jaiden Hayes will compete in the girls 300 meter hurdles while Jordan Shadix will be in the boys shot put.
Union City qualified two for the D3 state meet. After winning a regional title, Logan Cole will compete in the boys discus while Nevada Gillons will be in the girls 100 meter hurdles.
There will be seven Quincy student-athletes competing in the D3 finals. In the girls meet, Nikkia Cronk will be in the 100 meters while Raigen Horsfall and Sophia Snellenberger will compete in the shot put and discus. Horsfall won a regional title in the shot put while Snellenberger won a regional crown in the discus. Competing in the boys 4×100 relay will be Tae’Sean Bodley, Bryce Bellamy, Ethan Hollister, and Ben Schreur.
The combined team from Tekonsha and Marshall Academy will have two student-athletes competing at the Division 4 Finals in Hudsonville. Tekonsha’s Wyatt Blashfield will be in the boys discus while Dani VanLente from Marshall Academy will compete in the girls 3200.
