QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Community School Board is scheduled Monday night to formally accept the resignation of high school principal Amanda Webb.
Her resignation would be effective on June 30, 2022.
She said it was with a heavy heart that she is resigning her position. Webb stated in her resignation letter, “While I never foresaw myself in the principal position, when I accepted the role last winter it was because I felt the need to make sure the school was led by someone who understood Quincy’s past and wanted to embrace its future.”
Webb went on to say, “This school year could not have commenced if it was not for the dedication of the staff and their passion for supporting students. I encourage the community to reach out in support to those who made this school year possible. They need to hear from them as unfortunately we more often see the great things that are happening overshadowed by those who use platforms to spread negativity. While I feel guilty leaving the students and staff so soon, I utlimately have to make this decision for myself as I move to advance my career.”
Webb was hired as the high school principal in February of 2021. The Quincy native was a United States history and government teacher in the Quincy School District for the previous five years.
Webb attended Quincy Community Schools and is a Western Michigan University graduate.
