COLDWATER TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Association of Realtors held their annual “Stuff the Van” food drive last week at the Coldwater Township Hall.
The association points out that hunger doesn’t take a summer vacation as families with children who normally receive free or reduced cost meals at school often turn to local food banks for assistance during the summer months.
With record-high gas prices and increasing food costs, many struggling families are turning to area food pantries for assistance.
The event was co-sponsored by GreenStone® Farm Credit Services and Branch County Abstract & Title.
BCAR Members were asked to bring non-perishable food items or cash donations.
They contributed over 1,200 pounds of food and donated $1,335 which will be delivered to food pantries in Bronson, Coldwater, Quincy and Union City.
The additional food from the luncheon was donated to the Quincy American Legion.
