LANSING, MI (WTVB) – Republican State Representative Andrew Fink has thrown his support behind proposed legislation in Lansing that would ban drag queen shows in public schools and allow parents to sue a school if there was a violation.
Fink joined a handful of GOP lawmakers and Republican gubernatorial hopeful Tudor Dixon for Thursday’s announcement on the steps of the State Capitol in Lansing.
There have been no known instances of a drag show or presentation in a Michigan school but Fink says there does not need to be a long string of previous instances to know there should be zero of them.
Republican Ryan Beerman of Commerce Township is the bill’s sponsor.
