COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners brought forward a request from County Treasurer Steve Rutz during their work session on Thursday to suspend late fees for 30 days to allow for the promotion of online dog license purchases.
Rutz said the selling of dog licenses has dropped in recent years.
The option of purchasing dog tags in Branch County has been available online for about a month in an effort to get more people to comply with a state law and to bring in additional revenue to the county.
Dog tags would then be mailed after you apply on line.
A complete list of dog license costs and fees can be found on the treasurers page at countyofbranch.com.
If a public hearing is not required, Commissioners are expected to take formal action on Rutz’s request during their regular meeting next Tuesday.
