COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A long time Branch County employee was honored during Tuesday’s Branch County Board of Commissioners meeting.
Alan Booth has worked in the county’s maintenance department for the past 44 years.
He will be retiring at the end of the month.
Booth currently works in the County’s Annex Building.
During a mostly routine meeting on Tuesday, the Commissioners approved the hiring of a full time legal assistant and a full time Social Worker at the Public Defender’s office.
There is no cost to the County as the funds will come from the Michigan Indigent Defense Commission budget. The hirings would be effective immediately.
They also approved a request from the Commission on Aging to replace the medical transportation van by using $27,500 in ARPA reimbursement through the State and almost $10,000 from the C.O.A. budget.
To qualify for ARPA funds, the van must be purchased and received by September 30, 2022.
