QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – There are two candidates to be the next Chief of the Quincy Police Department.
A meet-and-greet was held before Tuesday night’s Quincy Village Council meeting for candidates Mike Kolassa and Doug Pope.
Kolassa is a lieutenant with the Albion Public Safety Department while Pope is a deputy with the Branch County Sheriff’s Department.
The Council discussed the two candidates during a closed session but no decision on a new Chief was made when they came back into open session.
A decision is scheduled to be made during a special meeting of the Village Council next Tuesday night.
Whoever is selected would succeed Jeremy Burch who stepped down last month after serving as Quincy Police Chief for five years.
