BRONSON,MI (WTVB) – The 52nd edition of the Bronson Polish Festival begins its three day run on Thursday.
Festival Committee Chair Candy Cox says the event draws many people from out-of-town.
The theme for this year’s festival is “Polka at MI Place”.
The highlight for Thursday is the Opening Ceremonies at the St. Mary’s Assumption School gym beginning at 6:30 p.m. It will include the crowning of the Polish Festival king and queen and the rest of the court.
There will be polish food available throughout the day at the American Legion, the Bronson Strike Zone, Knights of Columbus, Matteson Street Grill, Smitty’s Pizza and Tasteful Kreations.
Activities include Kid’s Day on Friday at Douglas Park, the annual fireworks show Friday night at dusk and the Festival Parade at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
Karen Smith from the Festival Committee says the Bronson Viking Alliance Truck Pulls will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday night behind the Dollar General store. This will be the 30th year for the truck pulls.
Saturday’s highlights include a car show, a garden tractor show, a co-ed softball tournament and a polka dinner and dance at St. Mary’s Saturday night.
The 3 on 3 basketball tournament scheduled for Sunday was cancelled due to a lack of participation.
