COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The 2022 Branch County Fair starts on August 7 and there have been some changes in the management of the fair.
Keith Bildner has taken over as Fair Manager from Jan Murphy after she served the fair for over three decades.
Bildner had to step down as Fair Board President to become the Fair Manager.
He says they will have a new ride company this year.
Fair Board member Randy Houtz says there will be a full week of programs in the Amphitheater.
The crowning of the Fair King and Queen will take place on the opening night of the fair and for the first time since 2019, there will a Branch County Fair King.
The 2020 Fair was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic and there were no King candidates in 2021.
The court for this year’s Fair consists of Queen candidates Annabelle Kling, Carleigh Crouch and Alice Hughes.
The King candidates are Chase Rubley, Jackson Preston and Jacob Reif.
There are plans to honor Murphy at the end of the King and Queen program on August 7.
