BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Long time Bronson Area Fire Association president Dennis Schumacher will be retiring soon.
At the annual meeting for the association held last month, Matteson Township Supervisor Kevin Barnes was appointed as the new president upon Schumacher’s retirement.
Batavia Township Trustee Taylor Fraser will serve as vice president. The executive committee will be rounded out with Noble Township Supervisor Harry Metzger as the member at large with Bronson City Manager Brandon Mersman serving as an alternate.
Schumacher began serving as the president of the association when Charlie Somerlotte was the Bronson Fire Chief.
The full B.A.F.A. board is made up of two representatives from each of the seven governmental agencies that make up the Bronson Fire District.
