COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners gave two representatives from the Commission on Aging permission on Tuesday to travel to Delphos, Ohio next week in order to purchase a new medical transportation van.
To qualify for ARPA funds to cover most of the costs, the van must be purchased and received by September 30, 2022.
C.O.A. Executive Director Amy Duff told Commissioners they are saving money.
Commissioner Tom Mathew expressed his disappointment the vehicle was not purchased in Michigan.
Duff said they checked with several local dealerships.
The C.O.A. is in line to get $27,500 in ARPA reimbursement through the state which is designated for senior service programs.
