CONSTANTINE TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – An 11-year-old girl was killed in a two-car crash in St. Joseph County’s Constantine Township on Sunday afternoon.
The crash took place at the intersection of Klett Road and Quaker Street at about 2:45 p.m..
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department says a Hyundai SUV was heading south on Klett Road when the driver did not see a stop sign at Quaker Street and struck an eastbound Chevrolet SUV.
The 11-year-old girl who lost her life was in the Chevrolet SUV. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Department says the driver of the Hyundai SUV was a 49-year-old Indiana woman.
She and two other children in the SUV received injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The names of those involved have not been released by the Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash which is still under investigation.
