COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Planning Commission approved a Special Land Use permit for a Recreational Marijuana Processor at 211 West Garfield Road on Monday night but they had to table another request to have a Recreational Marijuana Retailer at that same location.
Craft Leaf, LLC of Detroit received permission from the Planning Commission last October to operate a Marijuana Grow Class C operation.
City Planner Dean Walrack said the owners were now interested in vertically integrating the processing and sales into this site.
While the processor request passed, the retail request bogged down in a lengthy discussion. Walrack indicated there was a clerical error during the transition to clear zoning.
The Planning Commission eventually voted to table the retail request until their September 6 meeting.
Walrack said the applicant has proposed two potential configurations for the site, one with an addition to the existing building’s west side, or one with retail taking place in a freestanding building to the west of the existing structure.
