COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Zoning Board of Appeals approved requests from Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Director Paul Jakubczak and his wife Kerri Wednesday night for height and characteristic variances so that they can install a privacy fence on their Thompson Blvd. property.
City Planner Dean Walrack said the fence would be six feet high in a residential front yard.
Jakubczak said they were looking to extend a fence from the back yard.
In other business, the Z.B.A. went over proposed changes to the board’s bylaws. Z.B.A. Chair Gordon Swan hopes they will be followed in the future.
Katie Higgs, who is the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan Community Development Fellow for the City of Coldwater, said they continue to make progress towards achieving the “Redevelopment Ready Community” (RRC) designation through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). As part of this effort, they must have bylaws/Rules of Procedures adopted by all development-related boards and commissions.
Formal adoption by the Z.B.A. is expected at a future meeting.
