UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Due to an extended power outage, the Union City Village Office will be closed to all business and will have no phone service on Wednesday, August 24.
Customers may still use the Dropbox to make payments. Anyone who needs Union City Police can call (517) 741-9191.
Village officials say on their Facebook page that a large tree uprooted and fell onto electric wires pulling down multiple utility poles and wires on Coldwater Road near Crane Street just after 10:30 p.m..
It resulted in a large explosion heard for many blocks and knocked out power to approximately 15 percent of Union City customers.
Crews were able to quickly restore power to most of the Village, however a few customers will remain off until later Wednesday when more work can be completed, this includes the Village Offices.
Residents are asked to hold all non emergency matters until the power can be restored on Thursday August 25th.
