MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities sent a pair of crews to Marshall earlier this week to help with restoration efforts following the Monday afternoon severe thunderstorms.
City of Marshall officials reported the storm uprooted trees, broke tree limbs, snapped utility poles and downed power lines which interrupted service to many electric customers.
Electric crews, power plant operators and tree trimmers worked Monday night restoring service but there were still several hundred customers without service on Tuesday morning.
Nearly all three phase primary circuits had to be re-energized.
Crews also had to restore service on single phase distribution laterals and individual residential and commercial services.
The Coldwater crews assisted with the replacement of broken poles and service restorations.
The cities of Coldwater and Marshall are partners in the Michigan South Central Power Agency.
