COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Planning Commission approved a Special Land Use Permit petition for the operation of an Adult Use Recreational Marijuana Retail Establishment at 211 West Garfield Road on Tuesday night.
The Planning Commission approved a Special Land Use permit for a Recreational Marijuana Processor on August 15 but had to table a request on the retail part of the business after there was some confusion about what was written in the city ordinance.
Tuesday’s action was taken after City Planner Dean Walrack reviewed the ordinance.
Craft Leaf, LLC of Detroit received permission from the Planning Commission last October to operate a Marijuana Grow Class C operation.
Walrack says the owners are now interested in integrating the processing and sales into this site.
He said the applicant has proposed two potential configurations for the site, one with an addition to the existing building’s west side, or one with retail taking place in a freestanding building to the west of the existing structure. A final site plan is being worked on.
