COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency is able to make appointments again after they received the updated COVID-19 booster vaccines.
The agency had to stop taking appointments earlier this week until they got the new Omicron-specific COVID-19 booster shots.
Appointments can be made by logging onto the agency’s web site at www.bhsj.org.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control approved updated boosters over a week ago from Pfizer for those 12 years and older and for the Moderna vaccine for persons 18 and older.
The new boosters target both the original COVID-19 strain and omicron’s BA.5 subvariant.
The original December 2020 vaccines can not be used any more as boosters after the FDA authorized the new boosters.
