COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A $6,000 check was presented on Friday by Tom Kolassa to Branch County Sheriff John Pollack to complete the Sheriff’s Office Drone Project. Kolassa currently resides in Battle Creek where is the city’s former Mayor. He recently purchased a home on Coldwater Lake.
Kolassa attended a Pearl Beach Association meeting where Sheriff Pollack gave a presentation on the drone project. He told those at the presentation he has always felt blessed to have been from Coldwater and this project seemed another great way to give back to his hometown. Kolassa also contributed to the recent upgrade to the Coldwater city tennis courts among other projects.
Pollack stated he was very grateful to Kolassa for his contribution. With this donation, the Sheriff’s department will be able to more efficiently cover large crime scenes, more quickly investigate serious accidents and more effectively perform searches for lost individuals.
These funds, as with the donations from Sunrise Rotary and Union City Rotary, will be deposited into the Drone Project account of the Supporters of the Branch County Sheriff’s Office within the Branch County Community Foundation.
