BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Dense fog led to the cancellation of classes on Wednesday for students in the Coldwater Community School district and at Pansophia Academy.
It was the first cancellation of classes for the 2022-23 school year.
Both CCS and Pansophia initially decided to go with a two hour delay.
With foggy conditions not improving by 8:00 a.m., the decision was made to scrub for the day.
Coldwater schools also have an early dismissal of classes on Wednesday.
Bronson and Quincy schools delayed classes for two hours.
The dense fog rolled in just after midnight. It reduced the visibility to less than a quarter mile just after 7:00 a.m. at the Branch County Memorial Airport.
The sun finally burned off the fog at mid morning allowing the visibility to get above a mile.
