COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Community Health Agency says residents in the three counties they serve are now able to get their COVID-19 bivalent booster and Flu shots at their local office. The agency’s scheduling site has been updated to accept scheduling of the new booster. The Pfizer bivalent booster dose is approved for ages 12 and up. The Moderna bivalent booster is available for ages 18 and up. A bivalent booster is given no less than two months from the last dose of COVID-19 vaccine received. Those who have not completed a primary vaccination series are not eligible for a bivalent dose of vaccine at this time. Those who received Johnson & Johnson vaccine, can receive a Pfizer or Moderna bivalent booster dose, as long as it has been two months since their last dose.
Flu shots are also available at the agency. Flu shots are encouraged for anyone ages 6 months and up. They can be given at the same time as other vaccines, including COVID-19 vaccine. Flu shots are available at no cost for those with Medicaid, Medicare, and most private insurance plans. BHSJ CHA offers free vaccinations, through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program, to qualifying families with children who are age 18 or younger who are not insured or whose insurance does not cover immunizations.
