LANSING, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation has announced a crowdfunding campaign will be used to help fund the relocation of the Children’s Museum of Branch County to the Taylor’s building at 60 West Chicago in downtown Coldwater.
The campaign is being offered through the Michigan-based crowdfunding platform Patronicity.
If the campaign reaches its crowdfunding goal of $50,000 by October 28, the project will win a matching grant with funds made possible by the Michigan EDC’s Public Spaces Community Places program.
The Coldwater Downtown Development Authority is renovating nearly 7,000 square feet of interior space in the Taylor’s Building.
Funds from the campaign and community support will be used for numerous improvements at the new museum.
Those improvements include new bathrooms, a multipurpose room along with brand new carpeting and paint.
There would also be a retail area for children’s games and gifts, tempered storefront glass, updated electrical and HVAC systems and roof repairs.
A portion of funds will also be used toward new exhibits and programs.
Donations can made by visiting https://www.patronicity.com/project/new_childrens_museum_of_branch_county.
