BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Department had to investigate a late Saturday afternoon crash involving injury at Jonesville and Marshall Roads.
They say the crash involved a small SUV and a Jeep Cherokee. Deputies found both SUVs in the north west corner of the intersection, with the Jeep in a ditch.
Deputies assisted Coldwater Fire Rescue and Lifecare Ambulance with treating and loading the injured.
The Sheriff’s Office reports that according to a preliminary investigation, the red Jeep SUV driven by 18-year-old Macayla Skirke of Sherwood was west bound on Jonesville Road. After stopping for a stop sign, the Skirke vehicle entered the intersection and did not see the SUV that was north bound on Marshall Road driven by 55-year-old Jamie Cline of Coldwater. Cline was unable to stop and struck the red Jeep.
Cline was transported to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital. Skirke and the other two juveniles had minor injuries. All occupants were wearing seat belts and airbags deployed.
Skirke was cited by Sheriff Deputies for Failure to Yield Stop Sign.
Branch County Sheriff Deputies were assisted at the scene by Coldwater Fire Department Rescue units and Lifecare Ambulance Service.
