COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Bronson man who was charged in connection with the choking of a woman in his South Matteson Street apartment last November was sent to the Michigan Department of Corrections on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court after he entered no contest pleas to three charges.
36-year-old Kristopher Lee Franks was ordered to serve 29 months to five years in prison with credit for 291 days already served on charges of unlawful imprisonment and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder.
He was also given a sentence of 16 months to two years on a charge fourth degree criminal sexual conduct. Franks was credited with 289 days already served on that charge.
All of the sentences will run concurrently.
In exchange for his pleas, all other charges that were filed against Franks in connection with the incident were dismissed by prosecutors.
