SPRINGPORT, MI (WTVB) – Union City captured the girls team title on Tuesday during the Big 8 Conference cross country jamboree hosted by Springport.
The five Charger runners finished in the top 15 as they won the meet with 54 points followed by Concord with 67 points and Quincy with 86 points.
Bronson finished fifth in the team standings but the Vikings’ Ava Hathaway and Ashlynn Harris were the top two finishers. Hathaway’s winning time was 20:47.07.
Skyler Fraley was the top finisher for Union City as she was fifth with a time of 22:25.2. Murcie Wallen was sixth, Alissa Skirka was tenth, Kyla Burdick was 13th and Elizabeth Arlt finished 14th.
Charlotte Crabbs was the leading runner for Quincy as she was eighth with a time of 22:39.33. Brookelyn Parker was ninth for Quincy while Sadie Miller was 12th.
Jonesville won the boys meet with 60 points followed by Concord with 77 points and Bronson in third with 80 points.
Union City was fifth while Quincy was seventh in the team standings.
Union City’s Ben Gautsche was fourth with a time of 17:35.69 while Jason Shoop finished sixth.
Bronson’s Aden Hathaway was fifth with a time of 17:52.75. His teammate Ashton Wells finished eighth.
Quincy’s Rhett Reif was seventh with a time of 18:10.13 while Jacob Reif was 13th.
