COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After a scoreless first half, the Coldwater High School boys varsity soccer team fell at home Saturday to Division Two ninth ranked DeWitt 3-0.
DeWitt scored their first goal with 31:01 to play in the game on a long range shot. They scored again with 18:11 to play on a long direct kick that hit the crossbar and barely crossed the line. Their final goal came on a corner kick with 14:52 to play.
Franky Ramos made six saves in goal, as the Cardinals drop to 8-5-3 on the season. They will host undefeated and eighth ranked Parma Western Tuesday, with the winner taking the Interstate 8 Conference title. Coldwater is currently 5-0-1 in the conference, while the Panthers are 5-0.
The Coldwater junior varsity team lost to DeWitt Saturday 3-1, with their lone goal on a direct kick from Austin Accardi.
The JV team will play at Edwardsburg Monday before hosting Parma Western Tuesdsy.
