STEUBEN COUNTY, IN (WTVB) – Two youngsters were injured Saturday night in a Steuben County hit and run crash. The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office the crash that occurred on County Road 275 North near the Lake James Golf Club at about 8:55 p.m..
Upon the arrival of Sheriff’s Deputies, two boys ages 12 and 13 were found injured near the road.
The 12-year-old was transported to Cameron Memorial Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The 13-year-old was initially transported to Cameron Hospital, then flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
The 13-year-old was listed in grave condition on Sunday afternoon.
The names of the victims are being withheld in order to give the families involved ample time to make all necessary notifications.
An initial crash scene investigation revealed that an unknown vehicle was traveling eastbound on 275 North and struck the juveniles whom were walking along the roadway.
The driver involved in the crash left the scene before the arrival of first responders.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office were Angola Police, the Angola Fire Department, Steuben County EMS, and Parkview Samaritan Helicopter.
