BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Watch for portions of southwest Michigan, northern Indiana and northwest Ohio from late Friday night through Saturday morning as the forecast is calling for sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 degrees.
The Freeze Watch includes Branch, Calhoun, Hillsdale and Steuben Counties.
St. Joseph County is under a Frost Advisory.
Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
You should take steps to protect tender plants from the cold.
To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly.
Cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
