QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – A different route will be used Friday night for the Quincy Homecoming Parade after conversations were held involving school officials, the Village Manager and the Police Chief.
It was posted on the Quincy Community School’s Facebook page that the last parade that was put on had issues with several upset people causing some disruptions putting those that block the roads at risk.
The adjustment was made according to officials in order to avoid those types of situations and provide a safer parade experience for all.
A diagram shows a detour for cars on U.S. 12 to get around the parade route during the parade as well as a detour that allows cars to get past Main street either north or south during the parade.
There is also a detour for semis.
The parade will start at 5:30 p.m.. It will start and end at Jennings Elementary School as originally scheduled.
