COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An updated Master Plan for Branch County is ready for formal approval on Tuesday by the Branch County Board of Commissioners.
The Commissioners voted during their work session on Thursday to bring it forward to next week’s regular meeting.
The Branch County Planning Commission approved an updated version of the County’s proposed Master Plan last month and sent it on to the Board of Commissioners.
It was originally scheduled to be adopted last March 29 by the Commissioners but no action was taken on that day after it was discovered it had to be sent back to the Planning Commission so that they can review the changes discussed during the Commissioners previous work session.
The changes and corrections that were made included a clarification on language covering livestock and green energy sources.
The Planning Commission along with the Southcentral Michigan Planning Council have worked on the Master Plan since funding for updating it was approved by the Board of Commissioners in December of 2019.
