COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Sheriff John Pollack says grant funding is now available for Law Enforcement agencies in Michigan to send applicants to the basic training academy.
He told Branch County Commissioners last week this comes about as the hiring pool for law enforcement has been reduced in recent years.
The Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards recently receiving funding to assist with academy training for the next four years.
Pollack says the grants will assist in paying applicants wages while they are in the academy, as well as the academy costs, thus reducing costs for the County.
