MOTTVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A 33-year-old White Pigeon man suffered what were described as life threatening injuries on Thursday morning when he was struck by a vehicle on U.S. 12 near Riverside Drive which then left the scene.
St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark A. Lillywhite reports the hit and run car/pedestrian crash took place at about 5:35 a.m..
The injured man was found in the road by deputies.
Further investigation revealed that the injured pedestrian appeared to have been struck by a passenger car heading east.
The suspect vehicle is believed to be a gray 2000-2005 Cadillac Deville, with damage to the front bumper, grille and hood area.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by Lifecare Ambulance, the White Pigeon Fire Department, West Michigan Aircare, the Michigan State Police and MDOT.
